The ocean has always been at the center of my life, and it became even more meaningful during my recovery. Growing up in Santa Barbara, I fell in love with surfing and photography at the same time, and I've spent years chasing the feeling of looking out toward the horizon and imagining what's beyond it. I love making images that are open-ended, where the story is left up to whoever's looking. More than anything, I want my work to capture that sense of adventure and possibility, and to remind people to get outside and experience the world for themselves.

Going through cancer changed how I see everything, including my photography. When I was recovering, I couldn't get in the water, so I'd sit and look at it every day and dream about being back out there. That time taught me not to take any of it for granted, and it gave me a real second chance. Now I try to bring that gratitude and energy into every shot I take, whether I'm in the water with friends or traveling somewhere new. I'm just grateful to be back doing what I love.
